Earnings Trump Bitcoin Rally as Crypto Stocks Diverge
Crypto stocks diverged sharply in August as Bitcoin surged from $64,000 to over $80,000. A short squeeze and steady ETF inflows contributed to this rally, but individual stock performances were largely driven by earnings results.
Bullish led the pack with a 46% gain, thanks to a 62% year-over-year revenue increase and EBITDA beating estimates by a wide margin. Its new tokenized share-trading platform on its own exchange added an extra growth story.
Other stocks like Metaplanet, Circle, and BitGo each advanced around 36%, while weaker results from companies like Cipher Mining, Hut 8, and Core Scientific led to significant declines.
