Edelman Financial Engines Surpasses Amazon Holdings with Bitcoin ETF Allocation
Edelman Financial Engines, one of the largest independent registered investment advisors in the US, has revealed its substantial allocation to Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The firm's recent regulatory filing covering the second quarter of 2026 shows that it holds roughly $34 million across spot Bitcoin ETFs. This position is divided between BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) and Grayscale's Bitcoin Trust (GBTC).
The allocation represents only about 0.012 percent of the firm's overall portfolio, yet it has drawn attention because it now exceeds Edelman's reported $25 million stake in Amazon. The ETFs offer a regulated way for advisors to gain exposure to Bitcoin's price movements without direct custody of the digital asset.
This move aligns with the long-standing views of Ric Edelman, the firm's founder, who has publicly supported Bitcoin ETFs since 2019. Edelman also established the Digital Assets Council of Financial Professionals to educate advisors on cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
