EDX Markets Brings Traditional Finance to Crypto with Institutional-Grade Trading Platform
EDX Markets is an institutional-grade cryptocurrency trading platform that brings traditional financial market practices to digital asset space. Founded in 2022 and launched in June 2023, it operates on a non-custodial model, reducing potential conflicts of interest.
The platform has secured multiple rounds of funding, including a $76 million Series C round led by Japan's SBI Holdings, bringing its total funding to over $100 million. In 2024, EDX Markets transitioned from the original MEMX technology to a proprietary matching engine to optimize trading performance.
EDX Clearing was launched in 2023 as a central clearing house, enhancing price competitiveness, reducing settlement risks, and improving operational efficiency. The platform continues to expand its range of supported trading pairs and features, with plans to support USD Coin (USDC) as collateral and for USD settlement in April 2025.
Additionally, EDX Markets has announced the launch of FlowConnect, a 'Crypto-as-a-Service' (CaaS) platform designed to help other companies quickly launch their own digital asset trading products. To further enhance compliance, EDX Markets submitted an application to the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) in April 2026 to become a national trust bank.
