Eight Capitulation Indicators Triggered: Is Bitcoin Nearing End of Bear Market?
Eight capitulation indicators have been triggered in the Bitcoin market, suggesting that the correction may be nearing its end. According to VanEck's research team, this is a significant signal that could mark the completion of the price 'capitulation' phase.
The researchers used the 'Bitcoin Market Capitulation Check' model to find that 8 out of 12 current indicators have triggered extreme pessimism signals, and all 12 indicators had entered panic-selling territory within the past three months. This is a crucial development, as it indicates that the market may be approaching a new accumulation phase.
However, not everyone is convinced that the worst is over. Glassnode warned of a potential drop to $52,800 if Bitcoin fails to hold above $58,500. Meanwhile, Arthur Hayes remains bullish on the Federal Reserve's balance sheet expansion, which he believes will bring significant liquidity benefits to Bitcoin and the broader crypto market.
Historically, the average duration from peak to maximum drawdown in bear markets is approximately 12.7 months, with the current correction entering its 11th month. With signs of capital inflows improving, including net inflows of nearly $300 million into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs on Monday, the market may complete its bottoming process between September and November.
