Athlon Blockchain Technology LLC's Bitcoin mining facility in El Reno, Oklahoma has been at the center of controversy due to a massive water leak that released over three million gallons of water. The city has condemned the property and issued an abatement notice. News 4 attempted to contact the owners but were met with resistance.

According to city records, Athlon is based out of Palo Alto, California. However, their website lists the El Reno address as its world headquarters. A search of county property records revealed that Athlon owns a house just a couple miles up the road from the mining facility, which appears abandoned.

Athlon's website listed Tony Shi as its founder and CEO, but when News 4 visited the house next door to Shi's former residence, neighbors reported seeing him for only one day before he left. A Stanford University graduate living in Palo Alto, California, Shi has registered several other LLCs for real estate development.
