El Salvador's Bitcoin Reserve Hits $510M as Bukele Fights Election Rivals
El Salvador has increased its Bitcoin reserve to over $510 million after surpassing 7,680 BTC in its Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. The country's policy aims to maintain a strong position in the cryptocurrency market.
The news comes as Nayib Bukele faces challenges from his election rivals in 2027. They have taken aim at his crypto vision and criticized the government for prioritizing Bitcoin over other economic strategies.
Despite this, Bukele maintains a high approval rating of 91.9%, according to a recent survey. Only 2.2% of respondents identified Bitcoin as the government's biggest failure.
