ElizaOS, once touted as a pioneering AI-agent token, has officially declared its own demise. In a shocking turn of events, the project's founder, Shaw Walters, announced that ElizaOS is 'completely dead' following a federal fraud lawsuit and significant market collapse.

The project, launched in October 2024 under the name ai16z, initially raised $75,000 through DAOs.fun. However, its market value skyrocketed to approximately $2.5 billion by January 2025, only to plummet to around $3.9 million today.

A federal class-action lawsuit, Pikabea v. Walters, was filed in April 2026 in the Southern District of New York, alleging that ElizaOS marketed itself as an AI-managed venture fund with an autonomous agent, when in reality humans controlled the decisions.

Walters and Eliza Labs Inc. have filed motions to dismiss the lawsuit, but the project's community has been informed that the company is winding down due to market conditions, a depleted treasury, and missed revenue targets.
