Emirates Airlines Flies into Crypto Payments with Crypto.com Partnership
Emirates Airlines has announced that it will now accept cryptocurrency payments for flight bookings through its website and mobile application. This move marks a significant milestone in the adoption of digital assets, particularly Shiba Inu (SHIB), which is one of the supported cryptocurrencies.
The integration with Crypto.com Pay allows eligible customers to pay for flights using 30 different cryptocurrencies, including SHIB, Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and others. The payment option supports transactions in Emirati Dirham (AED).
This development comes as a major win for Shiba Inu ahead of its sixth anniversary on August 1st. Despite the token's prolonged decline in market value, which has seen it drop by about 94.8% from its all-time high of $0.00008845 to its current price of $0.000004600, this integration demonstrates that SHIB continues to gain real-world utility.
The Emirates-Crypto.com partnership aligns with Dubai's ambition to become a global hub for digital finance and supports the emirate's Cashless Strategy under the D33 Economic Agenda. This initiative promotes the widespread adoption of digital payment technologies and reinforces Dubai's position as a leading center for financial innovation, blockchain development, and cryptocurrency adoption.
