Emirates Enables UAE Residents to Book Flights with Crypto
Emirates has partnered with Crypto.com to enable UAE residents to pay for flights using cryptocurrencies. The service, called Crypto.com Pay, allows eligible customers to book flights on Emirates' website and app using their digital wallets.
Crypto.com users can authorize payments from their wallet through the Crypto.com app, while desktop customers can scan a QR code at checkout. Emirates settles transactions in UAE dirhams rather than holding cryptocurrencies, with Crypto.com handling the conversion process.
The move reflects Emirates' efforts to cater to younger, digitally fluent generations who manage their money and plan their journeys primarily from their phones, according to Adnan Kazim, Emirates' deputy president and chief commercial officer.
Crypto.com received a UAE central bank Stored Value Facilities (SVF) license in July 2025, which enables the company to support integrations with airlines like Emirates and Dubai Duty Free.
