ESMA Registers 15 New CASPs as MiCA Licensing Momentum Grows

European regulators have expanded their oversight of the crypto industry by adding 15 new crypto-asset service providers (CASPs) to ESMA's interim MiCA register. This brings the total number of licensed providers to 309, exceeding the July 1 transitional deadline.

The update includes several notable additions, including BNY SA/NV, a Belgian subsidiary of US banking group BNY Mellon. Other new CASPs include payment and infrastructure-focused companies such as BitPay and Coinify.

Germany and Denmark led the latest wave of registrations, with three providers added in each country. This highlights uneven geographic progress across the bloc, with other countries adding fewer or no new CASPs.
