ETF Inflows Boost Bitcoin but Rate-Hike Fears Resurface
Bitcoin's price has been impacted by competing forces in recent days, with record inflows into US spot Bitcoin ETFs clashing with renewed macroeconomic concerns sparked by a strong US jobs report.
The report revived Federal Reserve rate-hike expectations, leading to a pullback in Bitcoin's price from Thursday's highs of around $81,000 to near $79,910 on Friday. Despite this, the inflows into these ETFs continue to drive institutional demand for regulated exposure to Bitcoin.
For the week ending September 5, 2026, these ETFs attracted $986.9 million in net inflows, pushing a three-week total to an impressive $3.8 billion. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) led the charge, followed by Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC), underscoring the growing institutional appetite for regulated Bitcoin exposure.
Dorine Cherop, an analyst, interprets these inflows as a sign of institutional macro hedging rather than pure long-term adoption. She maintains a bullish outlook on Bitcoin, setting a 12-month target of $95,000.
