ETF Inflows Soar: Bitcoin and Ethereum Attract Record $2 Billion in Five Days
The week started on a strong note for Bitcoin and Ethereum spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs), attracting almost $2 billion in fresh funds over five business days. This marks a significant increase, with net inflows reaching a 10-month high.
According to recent data, the spot BTC ETFs saw a surge in net inflows on Wednesday after the US Treasury Department announced it would double the maximum size of liquidity-support buybacks for longer-dated government debt. This had a positive effect on risk-on assets like crypto and investor appetite.
The spot Bitcoin ETF net inflows skyrocketed to $517 million on that day, exceeding $606 million on Thursday, which is the best single-day performance since May 1. Another $307.45 million entered the funds on Friday, ending the week with a total of $1.92 billion in net inflows.
The Ethereum counterparts also set a multi-month peak, gaining nearly $700 million within the same timeframe. The spot Ethereum ETFs attracted around $700 million in fresh funds, with net inflows seeing a significant uptick after the Wednesday announcement.
