ETH Breakout Imminent: Trader Sees $3,800-$4,000 Target
Ethereum (ETH) may be facing resistance around $2,000, but a breakout could send prices significantly higher, according to prominent trader DonAlt.
Speaking on an episode of the 'Casual Friday' podcast, DonAlt revealed he has started buying ETH in the $1,900 to $2,000 region after waiting several weeks for a deeper pullback. He initially hoped to accumulate ETH around $1,700 but decided to begin positioning when that entry failed to materialize.
DonAlt emphasized that his position is primarily a spot holding rather than a short-term leveraged trade and stated that his key invalidation point sits much lower at around $1,500. A monthly close below this level would significantly weaken the setup and could put $1,000 for ETH back in play.
On the upside, DonAlt is targeting roughly $3,800 to $4,000 if Ethereum can decisively clear resistance around $2,000. He views the $2,000 area as the most important immediate hurdle, and if it breaks, he expects ETH could quickly move through several intermediate resistance levels.
DonAlt was more cautious on Bitcoin (BTC), describing its weekly chart as weaker than ETH's. He identified roughly $65,000 as the critical upside area for BTC and said he would be willing to add exposure if momentum confirms above that zone.
