Ethereum's recent rally has come to an abrupt end as it dropped below $2,000 after briefly touching $2,089.

The token fell back down below the $2,000 mark as bears regained control and technical indicators shifted into bearish territory.

The price now trades near $1,960 with key support at $1,932 and resistance at $2,050 defining the short-term range.

Despite the decline, Ethereum still has some support from its 100-hourly simple moving average, which is currently above $1,960.
