ETH Price Rebound Hinges on Validator Reward Burn Proposal
Ethereum developers have proposed a draft plan to burn validator rewards as staking approaches 50% of the total ETH supply.
The proposal, known as Tapered Issuance Burn, suggests reducing new validator issuance as more ETH is staked across the network. If staking reaches about 50%, the new issuance would be fully balanced by burning the same amount.
Supporters believe this change could help control ETH supply and potentially support the Ethereum price in the long run.
However, others are warning that lower staking rewards may reduce interest from institutions seeking steady income from staking ETH. Aave founder Stani Kulechov said the proposal could make staking less attractive if validator rewards fall.
