ETH Price Rises as Exchange Supplies Plummet Amid ETF Buying Frenzy
Ethereum's price has been struggling to break above $2,500, but beneath the surface, something interesting is happening. The amount of ETH sitting on crypto exchanges has fallen to a multi-year low of around 14.88 million. This drop in exchange supply comes as roughly 6.4 million ETH has left exchanges since July 2025, with staking continuing to absorb a large share of circulating supply.
Meanwhile, U.S. Ethereum ETFs have just recorded a fresh $216.4 million daily inflow on September 11, bringing cumulative net inflows to around $13.38 billion. This has created an unusual setup for ETH, where the question is no longer simply whether it can break resistance but rather whether progressively less ETH available for immediate sale could amplify the next wave of demand.
Lower exchange balances can reduce immediately available selling supply if demand suddenly increases, and with around 35.9% of ETH supply reportedly now staked, further reducing the portion readily available for trading, this becomes a significant factor in the market.
