ETH Price Stalls at $1,913: Bulls Face Uphill Battle Amid Aggressive Sellers

Ethereum's price has stalled at $1,885, with momentum flatlining and aggressive sellers dominating the market. The probability of a break to the downside is higher than a reversal, according to Rebeca Moen.

The 200-day simple moving average (SMA) at $2,140 remains a crucial level for Ethereum's recovery. At present, ETH trades around 12% below this mark, which frames the current market situation. A clean break above $1,913 on volume is necessary to shift momentum in favor of bulls.

Smart money on Binance futures is positioned long at 65.7%, while retail investors are even more stretched at 69.7%. However, open interest has fallen by 1.62% over the last 24 hours, indicating existing longs are closing rather than fresh capital entering. This suggests distribution, not accumulation.

The analyst consensus from early January 2026 called for ETH to hold $2,800 to prevent a structural breakdown, but this level was lost. As a result, the burden of proof lies with the bulls, who must demonstrate a genuine catalyst for a momentum push toward $2,050 or higher.
