ETH Reserves Hit Three-Month Low as Staking Participation Surges
Ethereum's Binance reserves have hit a three-month low, dropping to approximately 3.74 million ETH. This decrease in exchange-held Ethereum has resulted in a tighter liquidity supply structure, with the total reserves across major exchanges reaching a multi-year low of around 14.88 million ETH.
The reduced reserves limit the immediately available tokens for trading, potentially reducing selling pressure. However, the falling reserves alone do not indicate stronger demand, but this supply shift coincided with record Ethereum staking participation, which also limited the portion of ETH readily available for trading.
According to CryptoQuant and CoinGlass data, Binance top traders maintain a long bias, with 59.05% holding long positions versus 40.95% short positions. This indicates a strong bullish positioning among top traders, but concentrated long positioning could trigger liquidation risk if ETH loses its current support.
ETH continues to trade around $2,473, within its consolidation range after August's rapid price advance. The token holds above the $2,372 support, and a successful breakout above the $2,540 area could reopen the path for another upside expansion.
