ETH Surges Past $2,500 on Record ETF Demand, Liquidation Event
Ethereum's price surged past $2,500 on the back of strong ETF demand and an unprecedented liquidation event that saw nearly $3 billion in cryptocurrency positions eliminated.
The spot Ethereum ETFs listed in the US accumulated a record $697.2 million in net inflows during the week ending August 21, marking their most successful week in 2026.
This influx of capital contributed to a combined $2.6 billion flowing into US-traded Bitcoin and Ethereum investment vehicles, with ETH ETFs attracting $1.18 billion in net capital over eight consecutive trading sessions.
The stablecoin market capitalization also experienced growth, increasing by approximately $4.1 billion during the previous two weeks, with $2.37 billion materializing within the last seven days.
