ETH Surpasses BTC in User Adoption with Record-Breaking 182M Wallets
Ethereum's user adoption has surpassed all other major blockchain networks, according to new data from on-chain analytics firm Santiment. The network now boasts an impressive 182.74 million non-empty wallets, a number that is more than three times the count of Bitcoin holders.
The comparison published by Santiment shows how the total number of non-empty addresses has changed across eight major cryptocurrencies over the past decade. Ethereum's trajectory significantly outpaced every other network, with its user base growing exponentially since 2019.
This growth can be attributed to Ethereum's smart-contract functionality, which supports a wide range of decentralized finance applications and tokens. As users interact with multiple protocols, they are drawn to the platform, further widening the gap between Ethereum and other networks.
