ETH Treads Water as Derivatives Sentiment Shifts Bearish Amid Whale Accumulation
The Ethereum price has stabilized at $1,910 after a 2% increase in the last 24 hours. However, derivatives sentiment is shifting bearish, and whale accumulation is complicating the picture.
Historically, a negative net taker volume in perpetual futures contracts has preceded significant price declines. The current situation mirrors this trend, with a negative net taker volume and a low Taker Buy/Sell Ratio (0.974) since June 6.
In contrast, US spot Ethereum ETFs have seen $60M in net inflows on Wednesday, according to CoinGlass data. This divergence between derivatives and spot flows is unusual and may resolve into a breakout or another price drop.
Three scenarios are possible: a sustained rally towards $2,000 if ETF inflows and whale accumulation continue; sideways trading between $1,880-$1,930 as derivatives pressure offsets spot demand; or a close below $1,850 that reopens the path to $1,750.
