Ether.fi Unveils Expanded Non-Custodial Neobank with Tokenized Stocks and Aave Lending
Ether.fi has rolled out its latest upgrade to its non-custodial 'neobank' app, which adds tokenized stock and metals trading as well as a dedicated Aave lending market for portfolio-backed borrowing.
The new integration with xStocks lets eligible users trade tokenized equities and metals alongside their crypto holdings, all held in self-custodial vaults with social recovery features. However, this feature is not available in the United States or certain other markets at launch due to regulatory restrictions.
A dedicated Aave V4 instance on Optimism allows users to borrow against their entire portfolio at rates currently around 4%, and spend the proceeds directly through the ether.fi Cash card.
The company's Cash card business already serves roughly 70,000 cardholders, providing a significant existing user base for the expanded platform. This move bundles trading, borrowing, and spending into one non-custodial app, aiming to compete with traditional neobanks on convenience rather than just yield.
