Ether.fi Upgrades Neobank with Tokenized Stocks and Portfolio-Backed Loans
Ether.fi has upgraded its non-custodial neobank to offer users tokenized stocks and metals, portfolio-backed loans at near 4% interest, payments in over 30 currencies, and programmatic ETHFI buybacks.
The updated interface is designed to be more user-friendly for those who want blockchain-based financial services without having to navigate multiple decentralized applications. Users can now access trading, tokenized real-world assets, portfolio borrowing, and global payments through one app.
The new features include an integration with xStocks, allowing eligible users to buy tokenized equities and commodities alongside their crypto holdings. The assets remain in self-custodial vaults rather than accounts controlled by a centralized exchange. Borrowing is handled through a new Aave market running on Optimism, where users can provide assets from their portfolios as collateral.
Users can also spend borrowed funds or transfer them through the Ether.fi Cash card, which allows customers to access money without first selling the assets held in their portfolios. The company's CEO, Mike Silagadze, said that Ether.fi aims to bridge the gap between decentralized finance and everyday financial needs.
