Ether Leaves Bitcoin Behind as Crypto Markets Diverge

Crypto markets have diverged significantly this week, with Ether outperforming Bitcoin. While Ether has pushed higher, Bitcoin is stuck in a narrow band around $65,000.

The macro environment is to blame for the divergence, according to Jeff Ko from CoinEx, who pointed to retreating oil prices, a 4.7% yield on the 10-year Treasury note, and a week packed with megacap corporate earnings as crosscurrents that are pulling in different directions.

This setup makes it difficult for Bitcoin to break out of its range, while institutional capital is rotating into assets like staked Ether or tokenized real-world assets that offer yield. The tokenization market has crossed $20 billion, a reflection of where institutional liquidity is heading when macro rates stay elevated.
