Ethereum Adoption Soars Despite Price Drop
Ethereum's price may be down, but its adoption is on the rise. According to recent data, institutional investors are buying up ETH despite the market downturn.
SharpLink Gaming and BitMine Immersion have been at the forefront of this trend. SharpLink disclosed a net loss of $394.3 million in Q2 due to unrealized depreciation of its Ethereum portfolio, but it also raised $75 million through an equity offering, which it used to acquire more ETH.
BitMine, on the other hand, executed a 3 million share buyback and purchased another 7,931 ETH, expanding its total reserves to 5.805 million ETH. The company's staking income from these holdings is estimated to be around $257 million per year.
The surge in institutional buying has contributed to the record-breaking 41.7 million ETH now staked on the network, which represents approximately one-third of the total circulating supply.
