Ethereum Aims to Ease Gas Barrier with Stablecoin-Powered Fees
Ethereum developers are gearing up for a major transaction redesign that could let users pay network fees without holding Ether (ETH).
The proposed change, known as Frame Transactions, is scheduled for the planned 2027 Hegotá upgrade. This upgrade aims to make Ethereum easier for mainstream users by allowing applications to handle gas payments.
With Frame Transactions, users could spend stablecoins on transaction fees without first buying ETH. According to the developers' plan, this change will target Ethereum's gas barrier and make it more accessible to a broader audience.
