Ethereum and Solana Lead Crypto Hacking Losses with Over $1 Billion in First Half

Cryptocurrency hacking losses have exceeded $1 billion in the first half of 2026, marking the highest number of security incidents on a half-year basis. According to Blockaid, an on-chain security firm, 212 security incidents were tracked during this period.

Losses by network were concentrated on Ethereum and Solana, with Ethereum hacking losses estimated at about $332 million and Solana losses at approximately $326 million. This makes Solana the second-largest network for hacking losses, surpassing Arbitrum.

The largest single loss case in the first half was a $292 million incident involving KelpDAO. On Ethereum, code exploits accounted for the majority of incidents, targeting vulnerabilities in applications built on Ethereum.
