Ethereum and Solana May Become Scarcer Assets Amid Reduced Token Production Plans
Ethereum and Solana's price actions have been inconsistent lately, with Ethereum trading at $1,876.89 and Solana at $75.16, both showing slight increases and declines over various time periods.
This erratic market behavior suggests a lack of clear bullish or bearish momentum, as indicated by the Relative Strength Index (RSI) for both assets.
According to Grayscale's Head of Research Zach Pandl, Ethereum and Solana may become scarcer due to their respective networks' consideration of reducing the annual production of new tokens.
This reduction in inflation would decrease the supply growth rate of both $ETH and $SOL, potentially causing their values to rise if demand remains constant or increases.
Pandl projects that by 2031, the annual supply growth of Ethereum will be around 0.4%, and Solana's will be approximately 1.1%, similar to Bitcoin's supply growth and below gold's estimated 1.8% annual supply growth.
