Ethereum Breakout Looms as Institutional Demand Surges
Ethereum's price is on the rise, bucking the trend of a stagnant crypto market. A mysterious whale has invested nearly $50 million in ETH, while institutional investors continue to accumulate through spot ETFs.
The latest recovery appears to be driven by conviction rather than speculation. According to Lookonchain, three new wallets, believed to belong to the same entity, purchased 25,425 ETH worth around $50 million at an average price of $1,968.
Spot Ethereum ETFs have attracted over $103.9 million in weekly net inflows, outpacing Bitcoin ETF inflows during the same period. This influx of institutional capital suggests investors remain confident in Ethereum's long-term prospects despite market consolidation.
The chart structure is also showing signs of improvement, with ETH reclaiming key technical levels and forming a sequence of higher lows. A decisive daily close above $2,000 could confirm the breakout and invalidate recent consolidation, potentially opening the door to the next major resistance zone between $2,180 and $2,250.
Ethereum's institutional story continues to strengthen, with its dominance in decentralized finance, stablecoins, tokenized real-world assets, and smart contract applications contributing to its appeal. The growing participation of regulated investment products is also benefiting Ethereum, as institutions position for a longer-term recovery rather than a short-lived bounce.
