Ethereum Consolidates Near $2,500 as Bull Flag Takes Shape
Ethereum's price has been consolidating around $2,450 after reaching a seven-day high near $2,546 on August 26.
The 4-hour chart of Ethereum shows a potential bull flag forming, which could decide the next major move. The flag is a technical pattern that occurs when there is a sharp advance followed by consolidation within a downward-sloping channel.
According to CoinGlass data, there are substantial leveraged positions on both sides of the current price, with the nearest major pool above Ethereum appearing around $2,530 to $2,560. A move into this zone could force leveraged short positions to close, potentially adding buying pressure as ETH retests its weekly high.
The daily Relative Strength Index (RSI) has reached 75.59, showing strong but overextended momentum. The RSI moving average was lower at 68.56, indicating that Ethereum's rally may require consolidation or a pullback before attempting another sustained advance.
