Ethereum Could Hit $6,000 by December If Bitcoin Reaches Record-High $150,000
Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat and chairman of BitMine Immersion Technologies, has set his sights on Ethereum reaching $6,000 by December. However, this ambitious target relies on Bitcoin hitting a record-breaking price of $150,000 in the same time frame.
According to Lee, the Ethereum-to-Bitcoin ratio must climb from its current level of around 0.03 to 0.04 for Ethereum to hit $6,000. This would mean that Ethereum needs to rise faster than Bitcoin, with a jump of roughly one-third in relative value.
Lee cited four catalysts that could drive the recovery of the ETH/BTC ratio: passage of the CLARITY Act, which would classify digital assets like Ethereum under CFTC oversight; short positions being closed and capital returning to crypto; capital reallocation from Asia into digital assets; and institutional investors chasing performance if Ethereum continues to outperform other assets.
However, experts are skeptical about Lee's target, arguing that it is unlikely for Bitcoin to gain 91% in just four months. They also point out that a run to $150,000 would require a fresh record for Bitcoin, which is currently trading near $78,600.
