Ethereum Derivatives Market Remains Calm Amid Mixed Sentiment

Ethereum's derivatives market has seen calm interest over the past week amid mixed sentiment.

The Net Taker Volume, which measures buying and selling volume in ETH perpetual contracts, moved slightly into negative territory since August, but the difference across the past two weeks has been modest. This suggests a closely fought battle for dominance between buyers and sellers.

Historically, sustained flips toward the negative side in this metric have caused price declines, as seen in January and May.

Ethereum's open interest declined earlier in the week despite positive funding rates, which hover near 0.0044%. This shows reduced participation in ETH derivatives despite a tilt toward long-side expectations.
