Ethereum Developer Proposes Standard for Tokenized Stock Status Checks
Ethereum developer Eric Conner has proposed a standard for checking the status of tokenised stocks, aiming to streamline interactions between applications and real-world assets. The draft proposal, which separates market closures from trading halts and price-feed delays, remains under technical review and has not reached final status.
The proposed interface would provide a common way to check whether markets are open or closed, as well as show normal price gaps from delayed or failed valuation updates and unavailable redemptions. However, the draft does not dictate how applications should interact with these assets, leaving those decisions to each protocol.
This proposal comes amid growing tokenised stock activity, with trading on Robinhood Chain reaching a significant milestone of US$1 billion through Uniswap. Conner's work aims to improve user experience and increase the adoption of tokenised stocks by making it easier for applications to check asset status.
