Ethereum Developers Consider New Privacy Transaction System

Ethereum developers are reviewing 66 proposals for the next major upgrade to the network, targeting a 2027 release. One proposal, EIP-8141 or Frame Transactions, could give accounts more control over transaction approval, execution, and fee payment.

This could help privacy-focused applications reduce their reliance on outside relayers and other middlemen. However, normal Ethereum transfers would remain publicly visible. The package also includes EIP-8250 and EIP-8272, which would support private transaction systems by improving transaction ordering and verification.

The proposals are being narrowed down during core developer calls, with the final scope of Hegotá still under review. Developers must decide which ideas can be built, tested, and released on schedule.
