Ethereum Developers Narrow Down Hegotá Upgrade Proposals
Ethereum developers are narrowing down their options for the Hegotá upgrade in 2027, which will feature 66 candidate proposals. The Hegotá upgrade is expected to address issues of privacy and censorship resistance.
The selection process remains fluid, but fork-choice enforced inclusion lists (FOCIL) have already been scheduled for the upgrade. FOCIL would use a validator committee to create inclusion lists that block builders must respect, reducing the ability of dominant builders to exclude valid transactions.
Privacy-related proposals such as Keyed Nonces and Recent Roots are also under consideration. These changes could unlock native privacy for applications without forcing users to depend on intermediaries.
