Ethereum Developers Pore Over Proposals for Native Privacy Features
Ethereum developers are reviewing proposals for the upcoming Hegotá upgrade, which is set to bring significant changes to the network. Among the 66 proposals being considered, several focus on adding privacy capabilities directly to the Ethereum protocol. FOCIL (Faster-Optimized Confidentiality and Integrity Logic) is currently confirmed for inclusion in the upgrade.
EIP-8141, EIP-8250, and EIP-8272 are three proposals among those being considered that could give developers more tools at the protocol level to create private applications. However, it's essential to note that Ethereum does not yet have native privacy features.
Developers will decide which proposals move forward during upcoming core developer meetings, with Hegotá targeted for 2027. The upgrade is expected to bring significant changes to the network, and the addition of privacy capabilities could be a crucial step in its development.
