Ethereum Devnet-8 Launch Nears as Institutional Capital Flows Increase
The Ethereum network is gearing up for significant updates, with several key developments happening in August. The Glamsterdam devnet is nearing its milestone launch, scheduled for early August, after successfully testing higher transaction loads. This will pave the way for the final devnet before the upgrade moves to public testnets.
Another proposal window closed on August 6, marking the end of non-headliner Hegotá submissions. The Hegotá proposal includes FOCIL as its headliner feature and native account abstraction, which is pending further alignment among client teams. Additionally, EIP-8363 has stirred debate regarding staking caps.
Sharplink and Galaxy Digital have launched a $125 million onchain yield fund, with $100 million from Sharplink's staked treasury and the remaining $25 million contributed by Galaxy as investment manager. The fund will deploy capital into DeFi liquidity protocols and other onchain yield strategies while allowing Sharplink to preserve its core staked ETH exposure.
