Ethereum Dominates Public Token Sales as Concentration Risk Rises
Public token sales have reached $1.42 billion in 2026, but most of this capital is concentrated on just five blockchain ecosystems. According to data from CryptoRank, these five chains account for around 94% of total fundraising, with Ethereum dominating at $334 million.
BNB Chain and Base are also among the top five, with $288 million and $269 million respectively. Solana and Sonic round out the list at $241 million and $206 million. This concentration raises questions about whether the public sale market is becoming a closed loop, where only established chains can reliably raise funds.
The dominance of Ethereum is not just due to brand inertia, but also its deep pool of existing liquid capital and rich developer tooling infrastructure. The chain's recent growth in developer activity has fed into its token sale pipeline, making it an attractive option for projects looking to launch.
