Ethereum Dominates Tokenized RWA Market as $65 Billion Sector Heats Up
The market for tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) has surpassed $65 billion, up roughly 44% from $45 billion at the start of the year. This growth is largely driven by traditional asset managers accelerating their pace to bring assets on-chain.
Ethereum holds approximately 33% of the total RWA market cap, maintaining its position as the primary venue for institutional tokenization. Its lead can be attributed to deep liquidity, established smart contract infrastructure, and familiarity among traditional finance firms.
The competition in the RWA space is heating up, with Provenance Blockchain ranking second with roughly 27% market share. Figure Lending anchors much of its RWA activity on this platform. Other notable players include BNBChain, XRPLedger, and Solana, each holding approximately 6% of the market.
The fragmented market structure leaves room for meaningful share shifts as platforms differentiate themselves through compliance tooling, settlement finality, and cost structure. RWA liquidity is among the stickiest in crypto, making it challenging for asset managers to switch from one platform to another once tokenization infrastructure is established.
