Ethereum Emerges as Key Player in AI Era According to Tom Lee
Tom Lee, a well-known figure in the crypto and financial world, has made a bold claim about Ethereum's role in the AI era. In a recent thread on X, he stated that Ethereum is the most important Layer-1 for the AI era, arguing that blockchains will become crucial for controlling AI and robots as their capabilities accelerate.
Lee's argument centers around the idea that smart contracts provide a transparent and verifiable layer to govern what a unified AI system does. He believes this is essential as AI models converge toward a shared intelligence through synthetic data training loops, with 98% overlap in reasoning pathways across leading models.
The Fundstrat co-founder also noted that the ETH/BTC ratio has broken above its long-term downtrend and expects it to rise further due to Wall Street tokenization and agentic AI. Lee sees Ethereum as a settlement and verification layer for the future of AI and robotics, making it an essential investment in his view.
In response to a post about China's new humanoid robot that can jump nearly two meters and run at 12.658 meters per second, Lee flagged blockchains as the important settlement layer to verify and control robot actions as those capabilities advance.
