Ethereum ETFs Outpace Bitcoin by Factor of Three in Latest Flow Data
The data on spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) reveals that they have attracted more institutional flows than Bitcoin ETFs, with a net inflow of $103.90 million in the week of July 20-24. This figure is roughly three times higher than the net inflows for Bitcoin funds, which stood at $33.79 million. The divergence between the two assets' flows masks a more important pattern: Ethereum's consistent outperformance across distinct periods this year.
This marks the third time in 2026 that Ethereum ETFs have exceeded Bitcoin ETFs in weekly inflows. In mid-July, ETH funds took in $105.44 million against BTC funds' $75.67 million. Similarly, in April, Ethereum funds recorded $187 million in weekly inflows during a period when Bitcoin funds posted $325.8 million in single-day outflows.
The flow picture within Bitcoin funds is not uniform. BlackRock's IBIT saw $95.5 million in outflows for the week, while the Bitcoin Mini Trust from Grayscale added $85.8 million and ARKB added $78.1 million. This rotation among Bitcoin ETF products suggests that institutional allocators are redistributing Bitcoin exposure across fund issuers while adding Ethereum exposure.
Ethereum ETFs have now accumulated approximately $11.68 billion in net inflows since launch, according to CoinDesk citing Artemis. Bitcoin ETFs remain in net outflow territory year-to-date, down approximately $4.76 billion for 2026 despite the recent inflow streak.
