Ethereum Exchange Supply Drops 73%, Tightening Market Conditions
Ethereum's exchange supply has plummeted to 6.06 million ETH, down from its June 2020 peak of 22.9 million ETH, representing a 73% decline in liquid exchange supply.
This shift is significant as more Ethereum now resides outside trading platforms, moving into staking, ETFs, corporate treasuries, and long-term custody. As a result, large sell waves may face a thinner pool of available supply, making price moves sensitive to demand changes.
The shrinking exchange balances have also led to increased demand for Ethereum ETFs, with nearly $197 million in net inflows last week and another $121 million on Monday, bringing the monthly total close to $450 million. This reduced readily available ETH keeps supply conditions tight for Ethereum holders.
