Ethereum Extends Lead Over XRPL in RLUSD Supply
Ripple has transferred another large amount of RLUSD from the XRP Ledger to Ethereum, but this time it's not a record-breaking move. On September 6, around $1.36 million in RLUSD was moved from XRPL and an identical amount was minted on Ethereum seconds later.
This transaction suggests a supply rebalance rather than creation of additional RLUSD. More importantly, the lead held by Ethereum in RLUSD supply is growing. Live chain data shows that Ethereum now holds around $1.38 billion in RLUSD, while XRPL has roughly $1.03 billion.
The gap between the two ledgers is significant, with Ethereum leading XRPL by around $350 million. This represents a widening of the lead, as just weeks ago XRPL briefly overtook Ethereum for the first time since June. The current situation mirrors the numbers from August 21, when Ethereum had moved back ahead with $989.34 million in RLUSD compared to $941.36 million on XRPL.
It's worth noting that Ripple explicitly issues RLUSD across multiple blockchains, and its official documentation now lists native availability beyond Ethereum and XRPL. The company's dual-chain strategy positions Ethereum as an additional liquidity venue rather than a replacement for XRPL.
