Ethereum Faces Downside Risk as Volatility Compresses
Ethereum continues to face downward pressure despite improvements in macro sentiment and sustained inflows into U.S. spot ETFs. The cryptocurrency has struggled to gain traction following U.S. President Donald Trump's comments on negotiations with Iran, which had a positive impact on overall market sentiment.
Despite this, the $1,850 support level remains critical for ETH. A break below this area could expose Ethereum to a decline towards the 50-day SMA near $1,780.
The current consolidation is accompanied by historically low 30-day realized volatility of 1.86%. This has led some analysts to predict a sharp breakout from the established trading range.
While accumulation grows, with inflows into U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs reaching approximately $27.4 million between July 27 and July 31, the market remains sensitive to geopolitical developments and investor risk appetite.
