Ethereum Foundation Adds Security Expert Pascal Caversaccio to Board
The Ethereum Foundation has appointed Pascal Caversaccio, known as pc, to its board. This brings the total number of board members to four, alongside founder Vitalik Buterin, president Aya Miyaguchi, and Swiss counsel Patrick Storchenegger.
Caversaccio co-founded SEAL 911, a rapid-response unit that helps crypto protocols recover from hacks and exploits. He has also worked on smart contracts and written the Ethereum Cypherpunk Manifesto in 2024, which applies Eric Hughes' original cypherpunk text to blockchain technology.
The appointment arrives after a turbulent stretch for Ethereums leadership, including a co-director's exit in June and a 40% budget cut. This has given more room for outside voices like Caversaccio to contribute.
The board's job is to set Ethereums long-term vision and ensure that management decisions align with the Foundation's values, which include censorship resistance, privacy, and open-source software. Caversaccio's addition rounds out a board built around protocol vision, security, and legal grounding.
