Ethereum Foundation Deploys Simplified Validator Tech for Institutional Adoption
The Ethereum Foundation has staked 72,000 ETH in February using a simplified distributed validator technology (DVT) called DVT-lite. Co-founder Vitalik Buterin announced this development on X.
This move is aimed at making distributed staking accessible to institutions with large ETH holdings. The assets are currently sitting in the validator entry queue and will be activated on March 19.
The announcement comes as about 37.5 million ETH, or around 31% of the total supply, is currently staked on the network. Despite this demand, control over validator infrastructure has been concentrated among a small number of professional staking providers.
