Ethereum Foundation Deploys Simplified Validator Tech for Institutional Adoption
The Ethereum Foundation has taken a significant step towards institutional adoption by staking 72,000 ETH using a simplified version of distributed validator technology called DVT-lite.
This move is aimed at making distributed staking more accessible to large ETH holders and institutions. The assets are currently sitting in the validator entry queue and will be activated on March 19.
DVT-lite is a less complex approach compared to full DVT, which distributes private keys across many coordinating nodes. Instead, it loads the same validator key onto several machines with automatic failover if one goes down.
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has described this system as a proof-of-concept for institutions and hopes that more large ETH holders will follow in using DVT-lite personally.
