Ethereum Foundation Deploys Simplified Validator Tech to Woo Institutional Stakers
The Ethereum Foundation has staked 72,000 ETH using a simplified version of distributed validator technology called DVT-lite. The assets are currently in the validator entry queue and will be activated on March 19.
DVT-lite is designed to make distributed staking more accessible for institutions with large ETH holdings. According to Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, this deployment serves as a proof-of-concept for broader institutional adoption.
The existing staking infrastructure has been criticized for being overly complex and favoring professional staking providers. Buterin aims to change this by making it easier for large ETH holders to participate in staking.
