Ethereum Foundation Deploys Treasury Assets Through Staking Initiative
The Ethereum Foundation has started staking 70,000 ETH from its treasury, following its treasury policy announced in June. The initial deposit of 2,016 ETH is now pending full activation on the validator activation queue. The foundation will use open-source infrastructure developed by Bitwise's Attestant to execute the staking initiative.
The foundation stated that its configuration employs minority clients alongside a mix of hosted infrastructure and self-managed hardware across several jurisdictions to address concerns about concentration in Ethereum's validator set.
Cryptocurrency researcher Chris Berry, head of Ethereum on-chain engineering at Bitwise Onchain Solutions, said that Vouch and Dirk were built with the mindset to fulfill the duties of an honest validator in the safest way possible.
