Ethereum Foundation Grades 62 EIPs for Hegotá Upgrade, Prioritizing Decentralization
The Ethereum Foundation's Protocol Cluster has published a unified tier list of 62 Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) ahead of the anticipated Hegotá network upgrade in 2027.
For the first time, the group has released a detailed breakdown of the proposals, integrating feedback from nine teams and individual contributors, totaling around 60 experts.
The top-rated proposal is EIP-7805, dubbed FOCIL (Fully Optimized Consensus Inclusion Layer), which received an S-tier rating, signifying a 'must-ship' status.
FOCIL aims to decentralize transaction inclusion by reducing reliance on centralized builders and is paired with EIP-8369, categorized as A-tier, which defines validator requirements for FOCIL eligibility.
